Welcome to my portfolio! I am glad that you stopped to see my current and past World Wide Web projects. The Web has become a very big part of my life. Since I started working on web pages, I have produced pages for Marshall University, Ashland University, New Providence Board of Education, AT&T Bell Labs, organizations, and other people. Without further delay, come in and look around. If you have any questions, E-Mail: webmaster[@]schryer[.]com. Please note that if you want to see the fullhome page, you may click on any of the "screen shots" below and take a look.
Michael's Personal WebpageI have hosted various versions of my webpage since 1992. It is my pride in life. I have "primped" and "primed" in the past few months. I'm very proud of my creation. There are seven sections to the home page: personal stuff, resume, picture book, portfolio, other links, kewl stuff. Recently, I moved my page over to my own server. In the current revisions, I implemented Java Scripts, Frames, Animated gif's, Perl Script Guestbook and Client-Side Imagemap sections to various sub-pages.You can view my personal page at: http://www.schryer.com/ |

Albion Residential Life WebpageBeginning in Spring 2001, I began to modify and improve on the Office of Residential Life webpage at Albion College. The new site consolidates all housing information, including: new student housing guide, staff, residence hall photos and diagrams, special interest housing, room lottery, policies and procedures, applications, and hall government. In the near future, the new site will include 360 degree views of residence hall rooms and lounge areas. Future improvements will be forthcoming. Check back soon for the improvements. You can view my personal page at: http://www.albion.edu/reslife/ |
OutspokenOutspoken, the queer student organization at Western Michigan University, had its webpage built by me in December 1998. As the first webpage for this organization, I tried to gather information and post it in on the web. As President, I decided that a webpage was of the utmost importance so that we could reach out to web folks from the university and the larger community. The page, in its beta version, serves as an information database for people outside the organization to find out what we are doing. You can view the Outspoken webpage at: Currently Unavailable Web Page |

Career CounselingAs the first online course Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology has done, I designed and html coded the Career Counseling web based course during Fall 1998. Under the direction of Dr. Theresa O'Halloran, I coordinated the construction of the project and gave technical expertise pertaining to web publishing. I coded the page using Dreamweaver by Macromedia. Graphic design was done on a Macintosh G3 running Adobe Photoshop 5.0. Pictures were taken using a Kodak DC25 Digital Camera. You can view the Career Counseling page at: Currently Unavailable Web Page |
Counselor Education & PsychologyThe Counselor Education & Psychology webpage is my project for the fall 1998 semester at Western Michigan University. I will be working on this webpage as a part of my Graduate Associateship. At the present time, barring any changes made by my supervisor, the page is constructed using two graphics, the header and a menu imagemap. The site is divided into eight sections which include: Academic Programs, Admissions, Office Location, Faculty, Course Descriptions, Course Schedule, Financial Aid, and Related Sites. You can view the CECP webpage at: http://www.wmich.edu/cecp/ |

Office of TutoringThe Tutoring Office webpage was a part of my Graduate Internship experience. I worked with the Coordinator to develop easily accessible information so that current and future students can see what types of services Marshall University offers to students with disabilities. The four initial sections include: facts and staff, calendar, times and places, and seminars. The graphics were developed using Adobe Photoshop LE on a Macintosh PowerPC. The DSS webpages utilize extensive use of tables to organize page content. You can view the Tutoring page at: Currently Unavailable Web Page |
Counseling ServicesThis is my second project for the summer 1997. Currently, I have just constructed the front page graphics and content. All images used were created on an SGI Indy using Image Works. When the webpage is complete, it will contain all the administrative documents used by Counseling Services. Some services available on the webpage will include a comprehensive listing of all the services offered by the office as well as links to other web sites. Since I am just starting on this project, more updates should come regularly. You can view the Counseling Services page at: http://www.marshall.edu/counseling/ |

Women's Center WebpageThe Women's Center webpage was designed and completed in December, 1996. Some features include a directory search engine and animated gifs. In the near future, the page will undergo some further revisions. The front page is made from a simple table which contains the text and graphics, but excludes the animated confetti. In terms of the complete site, I have broken it down into four distinct sections: what we do, hot stuff, pick your sites, and search. In the future, I will turn the page over to the Center for them to maintain. You can view the Women's Center webpage at: http://www.marshall.edu/wcenter/ |
Lambda Society WebpageThis was my first web project at Marshall University. The Marshall University Lambda Society home page devotes much of it's resources to informing and reducing heterosexist thought processes. Through this easily navigatable web page, the user can find general MULS Information as well as tap into major outside resources. Said information includes officer listings, events calendar, and meeting information. This page has a wealth of neat original images produced using Photoshop® on my Mac PowerPC®.You can view the Lambda Society page at: http://www.marshall.edu/muls/ |

Lesbian Gay Bisexual Outreach OfficeKewl little page, huh? It took a bit of work to get the content up to snuff. Some technical aspects in this page include server-side includes, virtual inclusion, xv graphical image grabbing and tables. The site is broken down into five sections: about us, newsletter, calendar, area resources and online resources. An additional link goes to the Lambda Society page. The LGBO Office webpage is still far from being complete. Keep your eyes peeled for updates and/or massive revisions on a fairly regular basis. You can view the LGBO Office page at: http://www.marshall.edu/lgbo/ |
Faculty Senate WebpageThis serves as the official page for the Marshall University Faculty Senate. This was my "pet project" for the Senate for the fall of 1996. I am on staff as their Graduate Assistant. The page includes such goodies as the general informative data to legislative updates out of Charleston. In the future, this page will include secure forms for the processing of grant data and forms. The page was designed with relatively small graphics so as to download quickly at 14.4 mb/s. I hope I achieved this goal. You can view the Faculty Senate page at: http://www.marshall.edu/senate/ |

AT&T Jones Intercable WebpageThis is my current project with AT&T Research. I am responsible for the upgrading of information contained in this document. Included is the design of new front page graphics using Photoshop© on a PowerMac©. Clients will be able to view a video tour which demonstrates the proper way to hook up their system. Please note that this page is hosted on an AT&T internal web server. Only those within the att.com domain will be permitted to access the document. If you reside outside the corporate firewall, sorry. You can view the AT&T Jones Intercable page at: Currently Unavailable Web Page |
Ashland Residence Life WebpageThis is the home page for the AU Department of Residence Life. This was a project I started while still on the Residence Life staff. Over Christmas break, I completed the vast majority to the work. The page was more graphically inclined at the beginning, but the administration decided to "tone it down" to conform to the rest of the home pages. I guess one can only try (*sigh*)!!! Residence Life and Public Relations liked it so much that it now serves as the official Residence Life web page for the University. You can view the Residence Life page at: http://www.ashland.edu/reslife/ |

I have had much experience with UNIX text editors. Sam is the editor that I have had the most experience with during my time at AT&T. Sam spawns off the shell window and is a fast and easy way to modify a web page (point and click rather than scroll). In addition, I have had a significant deal of experience with both pico and vi. Both of the aforementioned editors are shell based and are rather clumsy and slow, but they do the job! In short, I have much experience with many of the standard editors and if I need to, I will learn another one. I pick things up rather quickly. In conclusion, if you have access to Sam, I would recommend using it.
